“There were no plans at this point to release the chronological version on DVD. I’m curious as to where (and how) they’ve managed to obtain this version from, considering what’s discussed here: HBO are offering something that’s unprecedented and I can’t wait to see it. I own the 1901-1980 Trilogy on VHS and whilst I was delighted to get hold of the AMC broadcast (presented in HD and OAR), it was an inevitably censored version. I’ve long hoped to see something like this. I wonder which order those scenes will be in in the HBO version.Īuthor JayArgonaut Time 1 7:20 PM Post link The AMC version just went from singing Vito to older Vito carrying fruit out of the store, with the scene where he’s leaning against the wall taking place a few scenes later. The scene where young Vito is singing, looking out at the Statue of Liberty, fades up to older Vito leaning against the wall with the “1917” title card coming up. I probably won’t believe it until I see it.īTW: I did notice some scene placement changes between the AMC version and the 1901-1980 laserdisc set I used to have, and I was wondering if you guys could shed some light on it. I really can’t believe they’re doing this. I don’t know about anyone else, but this is my most anticipated release in years. The Holy GrailĪuthor daileyxplanet Time 4:19 PM (Edited) Post link The will truly be history because there will be no HBO logo, no commercials and the violence and language will be there. The Godfather Epic that will be shown on HBO should not be mistaken with the vhs release of 386 minutes. With the opening and ending credits, it runs to about 434, and without them it’s around 424 minutes. This “Godfather Epic” will be like the original Godfather Saga release in 1977 except without the opening and ending credits. Let’s say if they will use only one intro and end credits, this can be the most extended, remastered & uncensored version.
